Job Description

Staff Accountant We are partnering with a well-established regional insurance organization seeking a Staff Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This role offers direct exposure to statutory reporting, insurance-specific accounting practices, and the financial operations of a growing carrier. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting along with an interest in developing expertise within the insurance space, particularly around statutory (STAT) accounting and regulatory reporting. Key Responsibilities Support the monthly and quarterly close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations Prepare and assist with statutory financial reporting in accordance with NAIC guidelines Maintain general ledger accounting for insurance-related transactions including premiums, claims, and reserves Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances Assist with preparation of schedules and filings for regulatory reporting Partner with internal teams including actuarial, underwriting, and operations to ensure accurate financial reporting Support process improvements and documentation of accounting procedures Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally within insurance, public accounting, or financial services Exposure to statutory accounting or regulatory reporting is preferred Technical Skillset Understanding of
U.S. GAAP
