Job DescriptionJob Description Overview:
Insight Global is partnering with looking to hire a Staff Accountant supporting a hospital in Alexandria, VA acting as a Finance Business Partner across accounting, budgeting, and foundation/non-profit operations. This role reports into Manager of Accounting and will serve as a key resource for nonprofit/foundation accounting, an area where the team needs strong subject matter expertise. This individual will wear multiple hats across accounting, budgeting support, and foundation operations, with a strong focus on endowments, restricted assets, and nonprofit GAAP compliance. The ideal candidate brings a background in not-for-profit accounting, strong technical accounting skills, and the ability to partner across teams to ensure financial accuracy and proper fund allocation.
Responsibilities:
Support foundation accounting operations, including endowments and restricted funds Ensure proper allocation and release of restricted assets in compliance with nonprofit GAAP Assist with budgeting processes in partnership with the finance team Prepare and analyze financial statements and reporting Maintain accurate general ledger activity and reconciliations Partner with foundation leadership and internal stakeholders on financial needs Support audit preparation and documentation Act as a key resource for nonprofit accounting guidance and best practices
Must Haves:
4+ years of accounting experience Bachelor's in accounting/finance or another related field Background in not-for-profit / foundation accounting (endowments, restricted funds, fund accounting) Strong knowledge of GAAP (nonprofit accounting strongly preferred) Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger work Ability to manage multiple priorities across accounting, budgeting, and foundation support Not-for-profit / foundation accounting experience (endowments, restricted funds, fund accounting) Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally
Preferred:
Healthcare or hospital experience CPA or master's in accounting/finance or another related field
