Job Description

The Thomas Jefferson Foundation has a twofold mission of preservation and education, and was incorporated in 1923 to preserve Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson, in Charlottesville, Virginia. Today, the Foundation seeks to bring history forward into national and global dialogues by engaging audiences with Jefferson's world and ideas, and sharing the history of everyone, enslaved and free, who lived and labored at Monticello. Monticello is recognized as a National Historic Landmark, a United Nations World Heritage Site, and a Site of Conscience. Senior Accountant The Thomas Jefferson Foundation seeks a senior accounting/finance professional to perform complex accounting tasks, management reporting and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and projections. This position will be responsible for assigned complex account reconciliations, compiling the Foundation's annual operating budget, evaluating and monitoring budgets for special projects, analyzing unit performance and recommending cost efficiencies, and evaluating the financial performance of revenue-generating operations. Candidates must have familiarity with GAAP, strong communication skills, superior attention to detail, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of experience and an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Economics.
