BASIC FUNCTION
Sr. Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of the Finance Department. Includes a variety of highly sensitive and confidential accounting duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sr. Staff Accountant Core Accounting & Close Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities Own complex journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations Analyze variances vs. budget, forecast, and prior periods Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies Fixed assets and depreciation Revenue recognition and contract accounting Intercompany transactions and consolidations Financial Reporting Assist with preparation of internal financial statements and management reports Support external financial reporting requirements Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for audits Coordinate with auditors and respond to audit requests Process Ownership & Controls Maintain and improve internal controls (SOX, if applicable) Identify process inefficiencies and drive process improvements / automation Document accounting procedures and workflows Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data Cross-Functional Support & Leadership Provide accounting guidance to non-finance stakeholders Work alongside with Division Finance and Technical Accounting Review work of junior accountant Provide training and informal supervision
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, MBA or CPA preferred 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Excel and Word ERP proficiency - bonus if experience with Sage Ability to effectively meet scheduled and ad-hoc project deadlines Demonstrated quick study, can work independently and self-starter competencies A team player committed to high standards of professionalism.
