Salary:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of the company and provide strategic oversight as we continue to scale. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and highly experienced in construction accounting, including WIP reporting, job costing, AIA billings, subcontractor compliance, and cash flow management. This role will work closely with ownership, project managers, and operations leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong project financial performance. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting and financial functions for the company Prepare and manage monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and job profitability reporting Maintain accurate job costing and project financial tracking across multiple active projects Manage and review AIA progress billings, schedules of values, retention, and change orders Oversee subcontractor compliance including lien waivers, insurance tracking, and vendor documentation Monitor project cash flow, forecasting, and revenue recognition Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Coordinate with project managers to review budgets, committed costs, projections, and cost-to-complete reports Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions Lead month-end and year-end close processes Coordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, banks, and bonding companies Assist with budgeting, strategic planning, and financial process improvements Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal controls Develop and improve accounting systems, reporting procedures, and operational workflows Qualifications 5+ years of construction accounting or construction controller experience Strong understanding of: WIP reporting Job costing AIA billing procedures Retention tracking Lien waivers Construction contracts and change orders Revenue recognition for construction projects Experience working for a general contractor required Proficiency with construction accounting software such as Sage, Foundation, Viewpoint Vista, Procore, or similar platforms Strong Excel and financial reporting skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and leadership abilities CPA or CMA preferred but not required Interested in hearing more?
