Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support critical accounting operations and financial reporting activities during a temporary engagement. This role will serve as a key contributor to the accounting team, taking ownership of month-end close activities, reconciliations, financial analysis, and general ledger maintenance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who can quickly adapt to a fast-paced environment, work independently, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. What You'll Do! Lead assigned portions of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and adjusting entries. Perform detailed balance sheet account reconciliations and promptly resolve reconciling items. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger. Analyze financial results and investigate significant fluctuations and variances. Prepare monthly financial schedules and supporting documentation. Assist with financial statement preparation and management reporting. Perform monthly bank reconciliations and cash account analysis. Support cash management activities and cash forecasting processes. Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditure tracking. Review and support accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed. Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and transactional issues. Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies. Support internal control procedures and identify opportunities for process improvement. Assist with audit preparation and respond to internal and external auditor requests. Partner with operational departments to gather information and resolve accounting matters. Support ERP system maintenance, upgrades, and process enhancement initiatives. Develop and improve accounting workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy. Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reporting requests for management. Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff when needed. What You'll Bring! Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 4+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting. Experience preparing and reviewing journal entries and supporting schedules. Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and financial analysis. Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Dynamics, or Sage Intacct. CPA or CPA candidate preferred. Experience supporting audits and preparing audit schedules. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
