As a full-service aviation services provider, Propeller Aero Services supports a diverse range of aircraft operations, including corporate, charter, cargo, military, and general aviation customers. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting daily accounting operations, reconciling inventory and financial data, and ensuring the integrity of the company's financial reporting. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and committed to accuracy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely. Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger accounts. Prepare and post journal entries and supporting documentation. Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities. Maintain fixed asset schedules and related supporting documentation. Review and reconcile fuel inventory and other operational inventory records to ensure accuracy between accounting records and operational systems. Investigate, document, and resolve accounting discrepancies, variances, and reconciliation issues in a timely manner. Generate customer invoices and assist with collections activities as needed. Process vendor invoices and ensure timely and accurate payment of obligations. Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation for management review. Assist external accountants, auditors, and consultants by providing requested financial information and supporting records. Maintain organized accounting files, records, and documentation in accordance with company policies. Support accounting process improvements and internal control initiatives. Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as requested. Communicate accounting issues, discrepancies, and process concerns to management in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and established financial controls. Minimum Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred. Minimum three years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related experience. Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Preferred Qualifications Experience with inventory accounting and reconciliation. Experience working in aviation, transportation, logistics, fuel operations, or a service-based business. Experience with QuickBooks, X-1, or similar accounting software. Understanding of financial statement preparation and month-end close processes.
