Job DescriptionJob Description Jeff Baker & Associates, PS (JBA) is a Tacoma, WA based CPA firm specializing in business based advisory, accounting, and tax services for small to medium size businesses and tax services for both individuals and business owners. We are currently seeking a staff accountant who is comfortable working in a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable with staff interaction and will be looking for growth in the firm. The Staff Accountant role is responsible for learning and applying their technical skills and working as part of a team to carry out client tasks.

Develops an understanding of the business and the Staff Accountant role. Develops technical skills both on the job and through formal learning channels. Works as an effective team member to complete project components and assignment tasks. Builds working relationships at peer client level. Seeks to gain knowledge of client businesses. Effectively documents work. As a member of the team - implements solutions for clients. Identifies task issues as well as task progress in a timely and organized manner. Demonstrates an active interest in the business world by keeping abreast of market trends and business developments. Builds strong team relationship skills.QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelors or Masters in Accounting or Tax 2+ years of tax experience Advanced knowledge and experience with QuickBooks (Desktop and QBO). Ability to embrace technology and willingness to learn new software applications. Annual accounting services (1099, W-2 preparation, etc.). Experience with Engagement, CCH Axcess is strongly desired.
