  • Full-time Position Summary The Accounting Manager / Controller will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions of our construction company, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing, prevailing wage compliance, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
This position will work closely with ownership and play a key role in maintaining the financial health of the organization. Responsibilities Manage all accounting functions using QuickBooks Enterprise Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes Process weekly payroll for field and office employees Ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements and certified payroll reporting Maintain accurate job costing and project financial tracking Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and balance sheet accounts Manage sales tax reporting and other regulatory filings Coordinate with external CPA and auditors Assist ownership with financial analysis and strategic decision-making Develop and improve accounting procedures and internal controls Qualifications 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry Experience as an Accounting Manager, Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar role Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Enterprise Experience with prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting Thorough understanding of job costing and construction accounting Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll processing Strong Microsoft Excel skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Preferred Qualifications Experience with excavation, utility, heavy civil, or septic construction companies Knowledge of Washington State prevailing wage requirements Experience managing HR-related administrative functions Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Bonus opportunities Paid Time Off Paid Holidays Health Insurance Retirement Plan options Long-term growth opportunities with a stable and expanding company
