Chief Accountant

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to lead our financial operations and ensure the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of our accounting functions. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of accounting processes, including financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal controls. Responsibilities Manage the full spectrum of accounting activities, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable, and account reconciliation. Oversee balance sheet reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). Lead the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, ensuring clarity and adherence to regulatory standards. Supervise cash management activities, including forecasting, cash flow analysis, and banking relationships. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and governmental regulations related to nonprofit or public sector accounting. Coordinate internal audits and facilitate external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial data. Utilize advanced accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms for efficient financial management. Conduct technical accounting research on complex issues like revenue recognition or lease accounting to ensure proper application of standards. Support budgeting processes by analyzing financial data, preparing forecasts, and providing insights for strategic planning. Qualifications Proven experience in corporate accounting with a strong understanding of

GAAP, IFRS, SOX

compliance, and governmental or nonprofit accounting standards. Demonstrated expertise in financial report writing, balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and account reconciliation processes. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or equivalent financial management tools. Solid knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles including debits & credits management. Experience with accounts payable/receivable functions along with payroll processing. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial concepts and perform detailed financial analysis. Excellent organizational skills with a focus on accuracy in general ledger reconciliation and regulatory reporting. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams. Relevant certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent are preferred but not mandatory. $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
