Controller / Accounting Manager Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our construction accounting team. This role is responsible for processing vendor invoices, managing subcontractor payments, reconciling accounts, and supporting overall financial operations for multiple construction projects. The ideal candidate has experience in construction accounting, understands job cost coding, and can work in a fast-paced environment with high accuracy. Key Responsibilities Process high-volume vendor and subcontractor invoices accurately and timely Match purchase orders, invoices, and receipts Verify proper job cost coding and approvals for all invoices Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers Maintain vendor files, W-9s, and insurance documentation Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies Track lien waivers and subcontractor compliance documents Assist with month-end closing and account reconciliations Communicate with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors regarding payment issues Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures Support audits and provide documentation as needed Qualifications 2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in the construction industry Knowledge of construction accounting practices and job costing Experience with accounting software such QuickBooks Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage deadlines and multiple projects Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications Experience handling subcontractor payments and lien waivers Familiarity with AIA billing and retainage tracking Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for growth and advancement
