Senior Construction Accountant

a family-owned construction firm, founded in 1991, has an immediate opening for a construction industry Senior Accountant. The ideal team member in this position will be energetic and curious with a desire to play an integral role in the growth and dynamic of the company. The work is fast-paced with competing deadlines and priorities, while also offering a casual office environment and collaborative team atmosphere.

Primary Responsibilities:

Adhere to GAAP standards Perform monthly financial statement closing Balance sheet reconciliations Work-In-Progress schedules and analyzation Maintain the general ledger, including account creation and journal entries Job cost analysis, entries, project budgets and management reports Various management reporting Asset schedules and management in accounting software and HCSS Equipment 360 Maintain business licenses, bonding and insurance Transaction recording, bank reconciliations and monitor daily cash activity Prepare and submit contract billings along with supporting documentation Lien release preparation and tracking Sub-contract document preparation, coordination and tracking Accounts Receivable; recording payments, discrepancy resolutions, Aging Monthly union reporting and Trust audits as required Various tax reporting to include State B&O-Excise-Use tax, City B&O, Payroll taxes Annual reporting to various agencies, namely Economic Census, Personal Property Tax, Unclaimed Property, SOS Annual reports, etc. Year end form preparations to include W-2's , 1099's and 1095's Collaborate with team and cross-train in all positions including accounts payable and payroll

Requirements:

5+ years of construction cost accounting experience required Multi state experience preferred In depth understanding of GAAP Advanced skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with Sage 300CRE Accounting program preferred HCSS - HeavyJob, HeavyBid and Equipment 360 familiarity a plus Effective verbal and written communication Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy Exceptional at prioritizing and organization Strong multi-tasking ability Work well under pressure and within deadlines Coordinate and work with outside partners such as CPA's, Tax Accountants, Bonding company, Banking and Insurance Brokers Pass drug screening and background check prior to hire This position is a non-exempt hourly position, 40-hours per week, Monday to Friday. Wage range is $40.00-$53.00 per hour, depending on experience.
