Job Description

J. Ross & Associates, LLC is Fox Valley's fastest growing Property Management, Commercial Real Estate and Investment Company, and we are looking for an Accountant to join our Team. This person will work with our accounting department to manage all financial transactions including AP, AR, bank accounts, loan payments, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
Accountant Job Responsibilities:
Work with Accounting Team in all areas of business financial processes in our office: Responsible for multiple business checking accounts. Examine bank statements and reconcile monthly. Monthly cash reconciliation for each portfolio of properties Provide weekly Checking account balances and Payable reports to Property Mgrs. for bill pay authorization Review invoices and prepare for payment by verifying documentation. Issue weekly payments Make monthly investors disbursement payments Ensure all loans are paid timely. Reconcile principal balances monthly Enter tenant receipts. Work with late tenants, charge Late Fees, set up payment plans, and document for legal action. Assist tenants in setting up Tenant Portal for online payment. Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing monthly profit and loss statement, and other Owner reports. Prepare annual Investors Statements Provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports. Will work with a variety of accounting and business programs. Ability to learn new processes and programs Identify and reconcile financial discrepancies Prepare annual budget templates for Property Managers Assist Property Managers with annual review /calculation of CAM reconciliation. Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations. Bi-weekly employee payroll and independent contractor realtor commission payments. Complete weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual payroll reports. Prepare 1099-M and W-2 annually Complete government reports and make payments timely Maintain financial security by following internal controls. Recommends accounting controls, policies and procedures

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
2 year or 4 year degree in accounting or finance, CPA is a plus Minimum 5 years' experience in accounting/finance AR, AP Experience with financial reporting requirements Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas Accounting program experience required. Quick Books, Excel and property management software (AppFolio) experience is a plus
