Staff Accountant Bontrager Family Companies | Bonduel, WI | Full-Time | On-Site $50,000 - $70,000/year About Us Most accounting roles put you in a box. This one builds your career. Bontrager Family Companies is a growing residential exterior contractor based in NE Wisconsin, operating across multiple entities with approximately $20M in annual revenue. We cover exterior home services — roofing, windows & doors, siding, and decking — along with barndominiums, spray foam, and concrete. Our finance team is lean and high-impact. This hire will work directly with the Head of Finance across the full accounting cycle — with a clear path to grow into a Senior Accountant or Controller role as the company scales. What You'll Do Own day-to-day bookkeeping — journal entries, AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and month-end close across multiple entities Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with variance commentary Assist with job costing and division-level P&L tracking across trade divisions Support 1099 filing, subcontractor documentation, and year-end tax prep for external advisors Provide support in payroll processing and benefits compliance Work in Acumatica (ERP) and Excel for accounting functions and financial modeling What We're Looking For 1-4 years of accounting experience; construction or multi-entity background a strong plus Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field Comfortable working independently in a small-team environment Strong Excel skills; experience with any mid-market ERP (QuickBooks, Sage, Acumatica) preferred Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and ready to grow into a broader finance role What We Offer Compensation $50,000 - $70,000 base salary, commensurate with experience Health & Wellness Medical, dental, and vision insurance — employer covers 65% of premiums Employer-paid Short-Term Disability insurance Retirement 401(k) with Safe Harbor employer match up to 3.5% of salary Time Off Tiered PTO accrual Paid holidays Growth & Culture Clear advancement path: Staff Accountant → Senior Accountant → Controller Promotion based on ownership and demonstrated mastery — not headcount Stable, family-owned company with a strong track record in NE Wisconsin Where This Role Can Go We promote based on ownership, not headcount.
