Job Description

Family Services is a non-profit organization that protects, heals and cares for children and families throughout Northeast Wisconsin. Family Services is strongly committed to protecting children and vulnerable individuals from abuse and exploitation. When traumatic situations occur, our staff is there to assist the individual or family with their journey of healing and recovery. Family Services cares for individuals who are isolated, abandoned or just need help developing the skills to live successfully. Our Business Office has an opening for Staff Accountant who is responsible for performing general accounting functions including developing and maintaining computerized reporting systems to support agency management needs, such as a financial statement recap and proforma statements; preparing monthly journal entries; performing general ledger and bank account reconciliations and analysis; preparing selected monthly reimbursement billings; completing grant reports. This position provides backup to our Accounts Payable and Payroll positions. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and five y ears of experience in various facets of accounting including financial statements, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable and budgeting. Candidates must have analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend change. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of staffing inside and outside the department are also required.
