Job Description

Staff Accountant, Impact Management Group SUMMARY :
The Staff Accountant will actively participate in compiling and producing financial information for companies assigned to this position, as well as support the rest of the Accounting team as needed.

Director of Accounting, Impact Management Group
FLSA STATUS
Full-time, Non-exempt
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reconcile bank accounts monthly, investigate overages/shortages and adjust as needed to complete the monthly reconciliation process for companies assigned. Enter monthly accruals, maintain short term loan documentation and maintain any other necessary schedules for companies assigned. Review and update with Accounting Manager all accruals, reserve amounts or budget changes that have occurred for companies assigned. Manage change requirements to tenant ledgers affected by process of applying assistance for properties assigned. Reconcile balance sheet accounts for companies assigned to ensure accuracy of financial reporting. Manage and produce monthly, quarterly and yearly financials for review by the Senior Director of Accounting or Accounting Manager for companies assigned. Ensure all restricted cash accounts are properly funded at year-end. Perform preparation of audit/compilation work papers for companies as assigned. Assist with annual budget process for companies assigned. Work with other departments as needed to maintain data/accounting integrity. Assist with any additional duties associated with these processes.
NON - ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Attends appropriate meetings and training sessions. Maintains education and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences and workshops. Assist with any general office and general accounting activities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience required. Computer experience in accounting and database systems. Should be familiar with basic rules of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred. Experience in the use of YARDI Voyager is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely. Communicates optimistically, positively, and with honesty and openness. Maintains confidentiality of all Agency information.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to do basic algebra and accounting calculations. Ability to use spreadsheets or other database tools to summarize information and calculate amounts.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail. Displays effective problem-solving skills, identifies and implements innovative practices and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Good interpersonal/human relation skills. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Should be a self-starter who is willing to take ownership of the job and work independently when necessary. Have an attitude of continuous self-improvement and optimize the processes and show independent initiative to bring any process improvements to the table to discuss with team.

Valid driver's license with current vehicle insurance.
