About VRSI:
Vocational Rehabilitation Specialists, Inc. (VRSI) is committed to aiding Military Veterans through the Department of Labor's Homeless Veteran Reintegration Program (HVRP). Operating across 19 offices in the United States, VRSI is dedicated to providing courteous, quality, and professional services aimed at helping eligible veterans, service members, and other individuals reach their full vocational potential. Our services encompass vocational counseling, training, vocational evaluation, and direct employment services.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a bright and motivated Accountant/Administrative Assistant to bring their skills and enthusiasm to our team! Our company is growing and we are looking to expand our corporate department. The Accountant/Administrative Assistant has an important role to ensure the full accounting needs from basic accounting to external audit requirements are met monthly, quarterly and annually.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Maintaining financial records and ensuring financial transactions are properly recorded in QuickBooks Reconciling the company's bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers Preparing, pulling, and tracking the Dept of Labor drawdowns Creating and maintaining budgets for all grants Preparing Financial Statements Handle corporate and operational audits with DOL Payroll and HR-related items Stay up to date on state and local tax laws Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner The ability to multitask and prioritize projects by importance or deadlines Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field required At least two (2) years of related experience in Accounting Ability to work independently and as part of a team. QuickBooks and MS Suite Experience Preferred. Excellent communication skills. Highly detailed oriented Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Rate:
