Sr. Accountant

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. This role requires expertise in overseeing complex financial operations, supporting month-end processes, and managing cost center budgets. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a strong background in government grants and billing.

Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
• Oversee and analyze budget versus actual expenses across approximately 20 cost centers.
• Assist in finalizing annual budgets and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Handle monthly billing processes based on individual cost center expenditures.
• Track and report on government grants to ensure compliance and proper allocation.
• Reconcile bank accounts and review general ledger entries for accuracy.
• Collaborate with the accounting manager to address financial discrepancies and optimize reporting.
• Provide detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Prepare and present detailed reports summarizing financial activities and variances.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
