What You'll Do:
Prepare complex federal and state income tax returns with minimal errors. Proficiently review moderately complex federal and state income tax returns. Prepare federal and state quarterly tax estimates. Prepare year-end journal entries. Conduct advanced tax research and interpret complex tax guidance to provide recommendations. Train staff on complex tax issues and provide assistance on assigned returns. Draft and edit tax memos, letters, notice responses, and other professional communication. Lead special projects and participate in forecasting, tax planning, and departmental initiatives. Assist tax accountants by answering questions and providing direction on tax return preparation. Apply workpaper standards and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation. Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders. Support departmental process improvements and identify opportunities to enhance workflow efficiency. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.
What We're Looking For:
Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities A bachelor's degree or higher in accounting and four (4) or more years of tax experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered. Proficiency in accounting and tax law knowledge. Ability to prepare all types of tax returns, including complex returns. Ability to review moderately complex tax returns. Ability to train on moderately complex tax returns. Ability to make independent decisions regarding work projects and tax issues; possesses leadership skills. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Effective time management skills to meet all deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain strong working relationships. Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing. Computer Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to use professional tax software. Ability to perform accurate data entry. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. Additional Eligibility Qualifications English language fluency, verbal and written.
