About the role:
CLA is looking to hire a Controller for our Client Accounting and Advisory Service (CAAS) who can sit in our Phoenix, AZ location. This role will support our growing Family Office practice. Our CAAS practice helps our clients transform their business with a collaborative approach that allows them to seamlessly mitigate risk, overcome challenges, meet deadlines, and identify personnel to help them with their workforce needs. As a Controller, you will: Assist the accounting team to record complex transactions Experience dealing with our growing Family Office Practice servicing high net worth individuals and families. Review complex account reconciliations prepared by the accounting team Complete the monthly, quarterly, and annual adjusting and closing process. Ado the client's organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards. Provide detailed review of the general ledger, financial statements and required work papers Prepare work papers for the independent auditors, if applicable Analyze and interpret financial information and regularly present to the client's leadership Develop budgets, analyze variances and implement corrective actions as needed Review payroll and payroll tax compliance What you will need: A BS degree in accounting or related field required. 6 years relevant work experience as a Controller or equivalent is required. Accounting back office experience is required. Relevant experience with high net worth individuals, Multiple entity and personal business management is preferred Experience with trusts highly preferred Public accounting experience preferred but not required. CPA certification is preferred but not required. Aptitude for developing and maintaining a thorough working knowledge of accounting software and systems. QuickBooks experience is preferred. Proficiency with applicable software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc).
