We're looking for a team-focused Accounting Leader who can embrace the innovative abilities of our accounting team and help them elevate our processes to the next level. The Accounting Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the accounting team, including mentoring, coaching and developing team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees accounting operations, including financial accounting, property & sales tax compliance, and general ledger activities Manages cost accounting processes, inventory reconciliations, and partners with manufacturing team to research and resolve discrepancies Supervises a team of 2-4 team members and provides training and mentoring to develop them for future growth within a rapidly expanding company Recruits and hires accounting staff and conducts performance evaluations Oversees close activities while driving accuracy, consistency, and timely completion Ensures balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and timely and performs accounting of complex balance sheet accounts Ensures financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards Establishes new internal policies and process improvements to increase productivity and efficiency Leads property and sales tax compliance activities with internal team and external service providers Prepares and reviews financial and property/sales tax related schedules to support annual financial and compliance audits Provides timely and consistent communication and insight to all departments Builds and maintains business relationships with internal and external partners to proactively identify, research, and resolve issues Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures Complies with local, state, and federal government requirements Participates in special projects, analysis, and ad-hoc tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required 7+ years of related accounting experience with increasing responsibility required - manufacturing, cost accounting, and Property/sales tax experience a plus Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles Demonstrated ability to manage teams, develop staff, and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders Experience with leading month-end close processes Proficiency in accounting software Proven analytical skills, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong Excel proficiency Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times #SVC2026
