We partner with housing authorities and property management organizations across the United States by providing technology solutions, inspections, compliance services, operational support, software development, accounting, and business services. About the Role We are seeking a proactive, analytical, and highly organized Administrative Assistant to join our Accounting & Finance Department. This position is ideal for a college student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field who wants to gain practical experience while working alongside experienced professionals. This is much more than an administrative position. You will support financial operations, vendor management, reporting, research, and process improvement initiatives while developing valuable business, accounting, and analytical skills. The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, working with numbers, researching solutions, and continuously improving processes. This position offers significant learning opportunities and the potential for long-term growth as both the department and the company continue to expand. What You Will Do Provide administrative support to the Accounting & Finance Department. Assist with maintaining accurate accounting records and financial documentation. Prepare, organize, and track invoices and supporting documentation. Perform data entry while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Maintain organized electronic files and financial records. Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable administrative activities. Research vendors, products, software, and business services based on company needs. Request vendor quotations and prepare comparison analyses. Analyze information and prepare reports that support financial and operational decisions. Create, maintain, and analyze spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel. Support month-end administrative and accounting activities. Assist with special projects and cross-functional initiatives. Communicate professionally with vendors, clients, and internal departments. Identify opportunities to improve administrative, financial, and operational processes. Perform additional administrative and accounting-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Previous professional experience is not required. Strong interest in accounting, finance, business operations, and continuous learning. Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and verbal). Authorized to work in the United States. Willing to travel to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, if needed. Skills We're Looking For Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills. Excellent attention to detail. Preferred Technical Skills Previous experience is not required, but familiarity with any of the following is a plus: Microsoft Excel (formulas, filters, sorting, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and basic reporting) Microsoft Word Microsoft Outlook Microsoft PowerPoint Google Workspace QuickBooks Online Adobe Acrobat Compensation & Benefits $18-$20 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Flexible part-time schedule (20-30 hours per week). Schedule designed to accommodate college coursework. Hands-on experience within a professional Accounting & Finance Department. Exposure to accounting operations, financial reporting, vendor management, and business analysis. Mentorship from experienced professionals.
