POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Supervisor, under the general direction of the System Corporate Controller, is responsible for supervising the accounting functions of Health First, Inc. and its affiliates. The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for a variety of personnel actions and assigning work to meet completion dates. The Supervisor coordinates the day-to-day operations of accounting, assists with various audits, treasury functions and the preparation of external financial reporting requirements of Health First, Inc. and subsidiaries.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
Develop, recruit, and maintain an effective staff for the Accounting Department. Provide effective guidance and counseling in assisting staff to solve work-related concerns and evaluate staff performance fairly and on a timely basis. Represent Health First, Inc. through community and professional organizations. Complete performance appraisals of staff, providing effective guidance and counseling. Supervise the daily operations of accounting. Manage the month end close process. Manage the audit related functions of the system. Prepare all financial reports for the system. Remain current on all healthcare regulations and standards as it relates to financial accounting. Remain current on all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Assist System Corporate Controller with taxation of Health First, Inc. and Subsidiaries/Joint Ventures. Maintain strong positive relationships with internal and external key stakeholders of Health First, Inc. and Subsidiaries to include, but not limited to, Financial Services Managers, Directors of Finance, operations, and external auditors. Ensure appropriate training is in place for internal customers of the Financial Services department. Supervise accounting functions of Health First, Inc. and subsidiaries. Assist System Corporate Controller with treasury management to include, but not limited to, cash management, investment monitoring, and debt covenant assessment. Analyze and recommend new or modified accounting processes that will support department stewardship goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Work Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in accounting analysis.
Licensure:

None Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Prior experience and knowledge in the use of software packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Windows. Extensive knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of GAAP. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Enthusiasm and high level of job interest. Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Possess computer abilities as well as oral and written communication skills. Demonstrates the ability to relate well with all customers and peers. Ability to prioritize and organize to maximum quality, value and service. Possesses and applies fundamental accounting and financial concepts necessary to analyze financial position of the organization.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience:
Eight (8) years of experience in accounting analysis.
Licensure:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping. Long periods of computer time or at workstation. Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance. May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise. Communicating with others to exchange information. Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks. Workspace may vary from open to confined. May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle. Benefits
