About the
Role:
The Accounting Associate/Administrative Assistant plays a critical role in maintaining accurate accounting records and providing essential administrative support to ensure smooth business operations. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting tasks, including recording transactions and purchasing. Additionally, the role involves support for payroll and HR functions and assisting with document management and record keeping.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher in accounting, finance, or related field preferred. One to two years' experience in bookkeeping or accounting support roles. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook). Prior HR and Payroll experience.
Responsibilities:
Record and categorize daily accounting transactions such as invoices, payments, and receipts accurately in accounting software. Assist in month-end close and account reconciliations. Purchasing Assist with payroll processing and ensure timely submission of related documentation. Prepare and maintain employee files in accordance with policies and guidelines Assist with recruitment and interview process - scheduling, collecting references, sending candidate status letters, maintaining interview records Coordinate new employee on-boarding process and orientation Other administrative tasks as needed.
