Job Description

6-Month Interim position with a potential for permanent
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field with an emphasis in accounting and 4 years of relevant work experience.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Business Manager perform duties relating to the accounting and business operations of the school district. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Prepare cash flow analysis for the school district.
  • Assist the Business Manager with the investment of school district funds.
  • Assist in the preparation of Social Security, Federal and state tax reports, and the preparation of W-2's and 1099's.
  • Supervise the school district 403(b) and flexible spending account programs.
  • Provide assistance to the Payroll and Accounts payable departments on routine accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Record journal entries for self-funded health insurance plan, Child Nutrition revenue recognition, year end payroll accrual, account reconciliations and other journal entries as needed.
  • Maintain fixed asset records.
  • Assist in the Impact Aid Census process.
  • Assist the Business Manager with operation of the school district computer system and the training of school district personnel using the financial and employee management's operations.
  • Assist with the audit process.
  • Manage district employee purchasing cards and run monthly activity reports.
  • Prepare, print and file 1095C and 1094 forms per the Affordable Care Act.
  • Respond to unemployment claims and notices.
  • Calculate and allocate school based budgets in the accounting system.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Business Manager.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.

6 Month Interim position with a potential for permanent
Evaluation:
Annual written evaluation by the Business Manager.
