Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk/Administrative Assistant to join our finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a thriving organization by managing essential accounting functions and providing administrative support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical accounting skills, proficiency with various financial software, and a proactive approach to data entry, reconciliation, and compliance. Responsibilities Perform data entry and maintain accurate records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Service Titan, or similar platforms. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections. Reconcile general ledger accounts, balance sheets, and bank statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies. Prepare journal entries, assist with month-end closing activities, and support account analysis for financial reporting. Assist with payroll management using systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro; ensure proper processing of payroll data and compliance with tax regulations. Support internal controls related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and assist with audit preparations. Handle administrative duties including answering phone inquiries, document filing, correspondence, scheduling, and maintaining organized records for governmental and non-profit accounting needs. Collaborate with teams on budgeting, financial concepts understanding, and ensuring accuracy in account reconciliation efforts. Qualifications Proven experience in corporate or governmental accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP and financial concepts. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Knowledge of payroll management systems including ADP or Paychex; familiarity with Kronos or UltiPro is advantageous. Strong data entry skills with high accuracy; experience with 10 key typing and double-entry bookkeeping is preferred. Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, journal entries, and general ledger accounting efficiently. Familiarity with tax regulations related to payroll and non-profit accounting is desirable. Excellent organizational skills coupled with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong math skills combined with financial acumen; prior experience in accounting is required. $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
