SUMMARY Provide guidance and/or solutions on complex accounting issues, independently researching issues, and implementing efficiencies to support the evolving business needs of the accounting department and company as a whole. Responsible for the preparation and delivery of a variety of consolidated financial reports and statements, as well as maintaining and reconciling related accounting data. Provides supervision and mentoring to various levels of accounting personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises daily accounting activities for assigned accounting staff through delegation, monitoring work, guidance and coaching, mentoring, counseling, and performance evaluation; Prepares complex standard and ad hoc reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables) utilizing a broad knowledge of accounting principles; Actively participates and drives innovation efforts to ensure accurate, complete, and timely reporting of financial results; Performs monthly financial statement closing; prepares and maintains supporting balance sheet and income statement schedules; Leads projects of moderate to high scope and complexity. Communicates project opportunities and constraints to Management while monitoring project status. May also actively participate in cross-functional projects of moderate to high scope; Reviews work, serves as a technical resource, and provides feedback, training, and guidance to Accountants and other cross-functional professionals; Analyzes and reviews producer commission information; Prepares schedules and other information as required for the company's financial audit; Other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting equivalent combination of education and experience Four (4) or more years professional experience in general ledger accounting and financial reporting One (1) or more years supervisory or leadership experience Proven knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles Experience working in BlackLine or related software SKILLS Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to delegate and work effectively with others Strong people management and coaching skills High level analytical skills with ability to interpret results Ability to determine priorities and work on several projects simultaneously Deadline oriented; ability to be flexible regarding work schedule Strong problem solving and time management skills #LI-DR2 We are proud to provide comprehensive, high quality employee programs to meet employees' needs now and in the future, including a very competitive financial package.
