Remote Accounting Supervisor Location Franklin Lakes, NJ 7417 Date Posted April 28, 2026 Job ID 14492 Employment Type Contract To Hire Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Accounting Supervisor for a growing, mission-driven organization that provides outsourced accounting services to nonprofit clients. This is a fully remote opportunity with required working hours of Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM EST.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Accounting Supervisor will play a key role in supporting a portfolio of nonprofit clients by delivering high-quality accounting and financial management services. This position blends hands-on accounting responsibilities with client-facing communication and team support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage core accounting functions including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations Prepare and review monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and timely client delivery Analyze financial data and communicate insights to client stakeholders, including leadership teams Support audit preparation, budgeting, grant tracking, and compliance reporting (including 990s and 1099s) Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and issue resolution Provide guidance and oversight to junior accounting staff supporting client accounts
QUALIFICATIONS
MUST display non-profit accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and foundational accounting principles Experience with financial reporting and month-end close processes Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel Ability to manage multiple clients or priorities simultaneously Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $40-$50/hour. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with the potential for long-term conversion based on performance and organizational needs.
