Job Description

Job Overview Southeast Recycling Group is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Office Administrator / Accounting Specialist to join our team at our Duncan, SC scrap metal recycling facility. This is a full-time, in-person position (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) responsible for supporting daily accounting and administrative operations. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, enjoys problem-solving, and can thrive in a fast-paced industrial environment. Key Responsibilities Review and process inbound and outbound scale tickets for accuracy Verify weights, material classifications, pricing, and customer/vendor information Update and maintain pricing for scrap purchases and sales Process customer payments and maintain accurate payment records Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities Process cash, ACH, and check transactions in accordance with company policies Maintain accurate records and documentation for reporting and compliance purposes Provide exceptional customer service to customers, vendors, and drivers Answer phones and assist visitors entering the facility Support daily office operations and administrative functions as needed Identify discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred Prior accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or office administration experience preferred Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general office software Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent communication and customer service skills Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Dependable, trustworthy, and punctual Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment What We're Looking For The ideal candidate: Takes ownership and follows through on responsibilities Communicates effectively and works well with others Is comfortable making decisions and solving problems independently Maintains accuracy while managing multiple priorities Thrives in a hands-on, team-oriented environment Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain accurate records Must be comfortable creating, maintaining, and improving office processes and procedures
Pay:
$22.00 - $26.00 per hour
