Job Description

The Accounting Supervisor oversees daily accounting operations for a multi-entity resort consisting of 25 departments, 3 companies, 2 HOAs, and 200+ employees. This role supports the Director of Finance by supervising accounting workflows, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial processes, coordinating cross-departmental communication, and maintaining strong internal controls. The Accounting Supervisor also assists with preparing financial reports, reviewing departmental submissions, and supporting month-end and year-end activities. This position requires strong accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead, train, and support staff in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Supervision & Department Oversight Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on schedule Provide guidance, training, and support to accounting staff and administrative personnel Monitor workflow, assign tasks, and ensure adherence to internal controls and financial policies Assist the Director of Finance with departmental oversight and operational planning Financial Reporting & Month-End Support Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial documents prepared by staff Assist with assembling monthly financial packets, variance summaries, and departmental reporting Support the Director of Finance with audit preparation, budget development, and compliance tracking Ensure accuracy and completeness of multi-entity financial records Accounts Payable, Receivable & Revenue Support Oversee AP/AR processes across 25 departments and multiple companies Review invoices, coding, approvals, and vendor documentation for accuracy Support revenue reconciliation, POS/PMS balancing, and HOA billing workflows Assist with resolving discrepancies and improving process efficiency Data & Document Management Review departmental submissions (budgets, forecasts, inventories, capital requests) for accuracy and completeness Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for multi-entity accounting records Ensure confidentiality of payroll, financial, and personnel information Cross-Departmental Coordination Serve as a liaison between Finance, HR, Payroll, and operational departments Provide guidance to department managers on financial procedures, deadlines, and documentation requirements Support communication with auditors, owners, and HOA boards as needed Process Improvement & Project Support Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve accuracy Assist with updating SOPs, internal controls, and financial policies Coordinate special projects assigned by the Director of Finance To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Leadership & Supervision — Guides staff, manages workflow, and supports departmental goals Technical Accounting Skills — Understands financial processes, reconciliations, and reporting Organization & Accuracy — Maintains high standards across complex, multi-entity operations Communication — Clear, professional, and effective across all levels of the organization Problem-Solving — Identifies issues, proposes solutions, and supports continuous improvement
Education/Experience:
3-5 years of accounting or finance experience; hospitality or multi-entity experience strongly preferred Prior experience in a lead, senior, or supervisory role preferred Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities Strong written and verbal communication skills High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality Ability to lead, train, and support staff effectively The Employee Experience Working at Lajitas Golf Resort offers an exciting blend of adventure, hospitality, and a strong sense of community. Room and Board At Lajitas Golf Resort, we offer affordable, private, and unfurnished employee housing on-site, with a variety of options to meet your needs, subject to availability. Housing rents are billed bi-weekly and vary depending on the unit size.

Personal RV - $65.00 bi-weekly Lajitas RV Efficiency - $65 .00 bi-weekly Lajitas RV Standard - $105.00 bi-weekly Lajitas RV Large - $115.00 bi-weekly Efficiency Apartment - $75.00 to $155.00 bi-weekly One Bedroom Apartment - $155.00 bi-weekly Two Bedroom Apartment - $220.00 bi-weekly Rent is based on single occupancy. Any additional occupants residing in the unit may result in additional fees.
Rents and Utilities:
Rents and electricity fees are conveniently deducted from your payroll. Each month, you will be billed for half of your unit's electricity cost based on metered usage, while the resort covers the other half. There are no additional utility charges.
Additional Services:
You may also choose from local providers for landline telephone, internet, and satellite television services.
Important Information:
Please note that all positions are full time only. Housing options vary for full time and seasonal employees. We do not offer dorm style accommodations, but you may share a unit with a coworker, with both names listed on the lease. All units are stand alone and unfurnished, so you will need to provide your own furniture and household items. A refundable housing deposit is required.
Pet Policy:
We proudly welcome pets and have specific fees and guidelines in place. Please contact us for more information. A non-refundable deposit of $150.00 per pet is required (maximum of 2 pets).
