Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting and Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support financial operations, ensure accurate record-keeping, and streamline administrative processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, proficiency with various accounting software, and excellent organizational skills. You will play a vital role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting budgeting efforts, and assisting with administrative tasks that keep our organization running smoothly. This paid position is perfect for someone eager to grow their expertise in both accounting and administrative functions within a collaborative environment. Duties Answer office telephone, emails, and correspond with clients Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy Prepare journal entries, conduct balance sheet reconciliations, and support month-end closing activities Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Accounting Power, or Drake Accounting to record transactions and generate reports Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Support budgeting activities by analyzing expenses and preparing financial reports Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including debits & credits and account analysis Handle administrative tasks such as data entry (including 10 key typing), document filing, and correspondence management Collaborate with team members on special projects related to accounting Skills Professional and friendly to clients via in-person, email, and phone interactions Multitasker and focused Strong knowledge of accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliation Proficiency with multiple accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Accounting Power, Drake Accounting, or similar tools Experience with non-profit accounting is a plus Familiarity with financial report writing, budgeting processes, and technical accounting standards Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment Attention to detail for accurate bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, and general ledger management Ability to interpret financial data clearly and communicate findings effectively Competence in using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel for data analysis and reporting Join us in a role where your expertise will directly contribute to the efficiency of our financial operations! Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
