Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in overseeing the accounts payable operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role is ideal for a highly organized individual with strong leadership skills and the ability to adapt to new tools and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the accounts payable team to ensure productivity and growth.
- Oversee the accurate coding and processing of invoices and disbursements.
- Manage and ensure compliance with Form 1099 reporting requirements.
- Utilize intermediate-level Excel skills to analyze and organize financial data.
- Coordinate and lead small group meetings to communicate updates and address challenges.
- Maintain organization by meeting daily deadlines and planning for intermediate and long-term goals.
- Ensure smooth operations by mastering new software systems as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams using Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Monitor and improve accounts payable processes to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Provide strategic input on intermediate and long-term project planning. Requirements
- Proven experience in accounts payable management or supervision.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with the capability to work independently.
- Proficiency in intermediate-level Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Familiarity with Form 1099 reporting and related compliance requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills with a track record of meeting deadlines.
- Ability to plan and execute both short-term and long-term goals effectively.
- Comfort in public speaking and leading small group discussions.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new software and systems.
