Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to lead receivables operations for a Contract opportunity based in San Diego, California. This role is ideal for a finance leader who can combine team leadership with a practical approach to improving collections, cash performance, and reporting across a complex, multi-entity business. The position will work closely with senior finance stakeholders to strengthen working capital results, deliver clear operational insight, and support scalable accounts receivable processes.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct daily accounts receivable and commercial collections activities, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding balances and consistent execution across multiple entities.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop an AR team by setting clear expectations, tracking performance, and promoting accountability and collaboration.
  • Design and execute collection strategies that improve cash inflow, reduce delinquent balances, and increase recovery outcomes.
  • Analyze customer payment trends, aging accounts, write-offs, and recoveries to identify risk areas and recommend corrective action.
  • Prepare recurring AR reports and dashboards for finance leadership, highlighting aging performance, cash collections, portfolio trends, and team productivity.
  • Partner with billing, revenue operations, and customer-facing teams to resolve disputes, address payment issues, and improve overall payment behavior.
  • Manage escalation efforts for overdue accounts, including coordination with external collection partners when appropriate.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements, automation opportunities, and system-related improvements that increase efficiency, forecasting accuracy, and operational scalability.
