Job Description

Accounts Payable Manager The Accounts Payable (AP) Manager is a senior finance leader responsible for owning and operating Accounts Payable as a centralized, enterprise shared services function supporting multiple business units within Moran Towing Corporation and its subsidiaries. This role provides strategic leadership across people, processes, and systems to deliver scalable, compliant, and efficient payables operations in a multi entity, multi system environment. The AP Manager partners closely with Finance leadership, Procurement, and business unit stakeholders to standardize processes, strengthen controls, support acquisitions, and enable enterprise growth. The AP Manager will lead multiple teams, drive process automation, and serve as a key stakeholder in a major ERP implementation, including the rollout of purchase orders and PO receiving. Additionally, this role includes administration and oversight of Concur Expense, managing high-volume credit card programs and employee reimbursable transactions.
Job Responsibilities:
Own and operate Accounts Payable as a centralized, enterprise shared services function supporting multiple business units. Build a scalable AP organizational structure aligned with shared services best practices Develop succession planning, cross training, and depth across AP teams Set performance expectations using KPIs (cycle time, accuracy, vendor satisfaction, close timeliness) Develop and execute strategies for establishing enterprise AP standards across systems and entities. Support onboarding and integration of newly acquired entities into enterprise AP processes and systems Serve as AP lead for ERP implementation, ensuring successful integration and automation of invoice processing. Oversee implementation of purchase order functionality and PO receiving workflows. Administer and optimize Concur Expense for employee reimbursements and corporate credit card transactions. Act as subject matter expert for AP systems, ensuring best practices and system utilization. Ensure governance, policy ownership, and exception management with purchasing, travel, and expense policies across both organizations. Oversee monthly AP close, including accruals and reconciliation of AP subledger to the general ledger. Manage high-volume transactions efficiently while maintaining accuracy and timeliness. Develop, implement, and maintain compliance frameworks for AP processes, including invoice approvals, vendor setup, and payment authorization. Ensure adherence to internal controls, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements (including 1099/1096 filings). Establish and enforce enterprise AP policies, controls, approval frameworks, and service standards Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Lead change management efforts during ERP implementation and process transformation. Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships by collaborating with Procurement and cross-functional internal stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently, enhance communication, and support effective end-to-end payables operations. Provide insights on trends, variances, and opportunities for optimization. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum 10-15 years of progressive AP or accounting experience, including multi-entity oversight and supervisory responsibilities. Proven experience with ERP implementation and AP automation projects. Advanced knowledge of AP systems and ERP platforms (e.g., Spectrum, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Concur). Strong technical proficiency and ability to manage complex system integrations. Exceptional leadership, communication, and change management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with reporting tools preferred.
