Corporate Accounting Manager Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on, process-driven Accounts Payable Supervisor to join a growing organization and play a key role in building and scaling the Accounts Payable function. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys creating structure, improving processes, and helping develop a department within a fast-paced, expanding company. Currently, the AP function operates as a one-person department, so the ideal candidate must be comfortable managing the full accounts payable cycle while also thinking strategically about future growth, automation, and process improvement. As transaction volume and operational complexity continue to increase, this individual will have the opportunity to help build out the AP team and grow into an Accounts Payable Manager role over time. This position will be heavily involved in future ERP selection and implementation initiatives, AP automation projects, and the development of scalable workflows and internal controls. The role will also partner closely with Procurement and Operations leadership to help establish efficient procure-to-pay processes that support the company's continued expansion. Key Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. Perform all hands-on AP responsibilities including invoice coding, data entry, vendor maintenance, payment processing, reconciliations, and issue resolution. Ensure transactions are accurately coded to the appropriate general ledger accounts. Prepare monthly accrual journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close activities. Build and maintain strong vendor relationships while ensuring compliance with company payment terms and policies. Collaborate closely with Procurement to improve procure-to-pay workflows, communication, and internal controls. Assist in evaluating, selecting, and implementing future ERP systems and AP automation tools with a focus on scalability and operational efficiency. Identify opportunities for process improvements, workflow enhancements, and automation as the company grows. Develop and maintain AP procedures, policies, and documentation to support a scalable accounting infrastructure. Review AP transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls. Maintain accurate records of invoices, payments, vendor communications, and supporting documentation. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including annual 1099 reporting. Manage the company's third-party payment platform (Ramp) and its integration with NetSuite. Participate in building and expanding the AP department, including helping hire, train, and mentor future team members. Take on increasing leadership responsibilities with the opportunity to grow into an AP Manager position as the organization continues to expand. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience). 4 or more years of accounts payable experience, preferably within a high-volume processing environment. Prior supervisory, lead, or informal team leadership experience preferred. Must have 3-way matching experience. Experience improving AP processes, implementing automation, or participating in ERP implementations strongly preferred. Strong understanding of accounts payable operations, accounting principles, and internal controls. Experience with ERP systems required. Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Ability to balance strategic process improvement initiatives with day-to-day transactional responsibilities. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work cross-functionally with Accounting, Procurement, and Operations teams in a fast-growing environment. Motivated by the opportunity to help build a department, drive process improvements, and grow into a larger leadership role over time. #RIMUSSimilar remote jobs
