Job Description
JOB OVERVIEW
The RCM Manager role focuses on maximizing revenue, reducing accounts receivable, and ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement from payers. In addition, this role collaborates with various teams to identify and resolve issues related to denials, appeals, payment posting, collections, and financial reconciliation.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Supervisory- Set goals for performance and deadlines and communicate them to team members.
- Provide guidance, training, and professional development opportunities to staff. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Interpersonal Relations
- Communicate and Collaborate with all internal and external parties in a positive manner, displaying a personal commitment to achieving the goals and objectives of the department and the organization. Financial Reporting
- Generate and analyze reports on key performance indicators related to revenue cycle operations. Provide regular reporting to leadership on revenue cycle performance. Compliance
- Stay up to date on healthcare regulations, billing guidelines, and industry changes to ensure compliance.
Specific Responsibilities:
Charge Capture and Coding Review- Implement processes to optimize charge capture, including conducting regular audits. Revenue Cycle Quality Assurance
- Establish and maintain quality assurance programs to monitor and improve revenue cycle operations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will supervise positions within the RCM department.TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands are moderate with occasional lifting of items weighing approximately 20-30 pounds. Position requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Working under stress and use of telephone required. Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment is also required. Employee must have normal range of hearing and vision must be correctable to normal range to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related experience required.EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of accounts receivable practices and medical business office procedures. Knowledge of insurance reimbursement procedures and practices. Good communication skills, both written and oral. Proficient computer skills including word processing, and data entry. Microsoft Office experience, including basic to intermediate Excel knowledge and skills, especially with the creation and manipulation of spreadsheets. Must have ability to communicate professionally and effectively with management and co-workers. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work cohesively within a team environment. Detail oriented with the ability to detect errors and discrepancies. Ability to work independently and stay focused on task at hand.
