Accounts Payable Manager

With eight-figure revenue and aggressive growth trajectory, we are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee and optimize all AP functions, reporting to the owner. Position Summary This role is responsible for the strategic oversight and daily management of the full accounts payable cycle, vendor relationships, and cash flow coordination. The ideal candidate brings both hands-on AP expertise and the ability to lead process improvements, enforce financial controls, and drive operational efficiency across the department. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee the complete payment cycle, ensuring timely, accurate processing of all vendor obligations while maintaining strong vendor relationships and service levels. Coordinate cross-functionality with purchasing, operations, and logistics to monitor and schedule inbound goods — both domestic and international — to optimize cash flow timing and working capital. Direct the processing and reconciliation of all payments, purchase orders, invoices, statements, checks, and refund requisitions in strict compliance with company financial policies and internal controls. Establish and enforce proper approval workflows, coding standards, and invoice-to-receipt matching procedures to maintain audit-ready accuracy. Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and resolve AP discrepancies in collaboration with internal departments. Provide backup support for payroll processing through HR Delivered . Evaluate, develop, and implement improvements to AP policies, procedures, and systems to support scalability as the company grows. Process expense reports and credit cards. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of progressive accounts payable experience, with demonstrated supervisory and process ownership responsibility. Strong command of bookkeeping principles, AP best practices, and internal controls. Proven ability to manage accounting records with precision and analytical rigor. Self-directed and highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to operate independently and prioritize competing demands. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel required) and QuickBooks. Experience with Fishbowl inventory management and HR Delivered a plus. Education Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate degree required.
