Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accounts Payable Supervisor role based in Garden City, NY. The Accounts Payable Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function, ensuring invoices are accurately coded, approved, and processed in a timely manner. Responsibilities include supervising Overseas AP team members, assigning work, monitoring performance, and providing training and guidance to maintain high accuracy and productivity. The role manages vendor relationships, responds to inquiries, resolves discrepancies, and ensures proper documentation and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will review and approve journal entries and accruals, assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, support audits, and collaborate with Finance and Operations to streamline processes and improve internal controls. Qualifications Demonstrated supervisory skills, including team leadership, workload prioritization, performance feedback, and coaching. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and improve accounts payable processes. Solid foundation in finance and accounting principles, particularly in an accounts payable environment. Hands-on experience with accruals and journal entries (accounting), especially for month-end and year-end close. Proficiency with accounting or ERP systems and advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables) preferred. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume setting. Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with vendors, internal stakeholders, and auditors. Minium 10 years experience and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience in retail, fuel, or multi-location environments is a plus.
