Position Overview:
With this exciting growth, we're looking for a strong highly skilled and proactive leader with a background in Medical Billing and Accounts Receivable to join our team. This individual will play a vital role in optimizing our AR operations by guiding Business Office Managers, Executive Directors, and AR Specialists in streamlining billing processes, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance across multiple operations. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in revenue cycle management, system configuration, and data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about improving processes, ensuring compliance, and mentoring others. This is a full-time, hybrid role with travel required to support our field-based locations. Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to direct, train and assist Business Office Managers, Executive Directors and AR Specialists on accurate and efficient billing practices according to company policies and procedures and industry standards, to monitor timely collections of accounts receivable across multiple operations, and to ensure exact recording of revenue transactions in those locations operating in the health care industry. Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
System Management Ensure AR systems are accurately configured with current rates and workflows. Monitor system updates and changes; implement necessary adjustments. Maintain and troubleshoot reporting functionality to ensure data integrity. Regulatory Awareness Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes. Assess system readiness and compliance with new regulations. Act as a liaison between operations and compliance teams. Process Improvement Evaluate and develop appeal, denial, and collection processes. Explore innovative solutions such as upfront private pay collection and patient billing via text. Identify opportunities to engage patients earlier in the billing cycle. Explore opportunities to enhance processes through AI by streamlining workflows and innovating how things are done. Reporting & Analytics Review and refine AR metrics to ensure relevance and accuracy. Share insights across departments to drive performance improvements. Use data trends to identify strategic opportunities. Contract Oversight Ensure all payer contracts are accurately entered into the system. Create and distribute contract summaries to operations teams. Support contract compliance and reimbursement accuracy. Internal Controls & Compliance Conduct audits to verify billing completeness and reimbursement accuracy. Recommend and implement process changes to strengthen internal controls. Take ownership of compliance initiatives and documentation. Teaching & Training Provide ongoing education and support to team members. Develop training materials and lead sessions on AR best practices. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Collaboration Advise AR Specialists, Executive Directors, and Operations Managers in billing and collection policies, procedures and regulations. Attends Cluster and/or Market meetings as requested or when necessary. Make recommendations on the hiring, termination and discipline of AR personnel to the Executive Directors as appropriate. Communicate best practices with peers and staff across business lines.
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of healthcare billing systems and payer contracts. Minimum 5 years experience in Accounts Receivable or Revenue Cycle Management. (Required) Experience with Radiology billing . (Preferred) Proven ability to lead process improvement initiatives. Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Experience with reporting tools and data analysis.
Preferred Skills:
Ability to mentor and train others effectively. Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards. Experience in a multi-location or remote work environment. Experience overseeing a team across multiple locations or departments. Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial billing regulations.
Job Details:
Full-time. Hybrid (Remote with some on-site work required). Position is "field based," therefore travel will be required to assigned companies as per requests. Travel across a wide geographic area, overnight and out-of-state. Moves intermittently during working hours. Is subject to frequent interruptions. Works beyond normal working hours on weekends and holidays, when necessary.
Salary:
$75,000 - $90,000 per year depending on experience.
