Job Description

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Supervisor to work at a food distributor in Lebanon, TN, who will oversee daily AP operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments, vendor communications, and financial documentation. This pivotal role involves managing the entire accounts payable process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal departments. Monday-Thursday onsite, start time flexible between 7-9am; Friday will be remote Salary starts at $75,000/year, commensurate with experience Annual bonus opportunity
What You Will Do:
Review and validate accuracy of vendor repayment requests before processing. Oversee and manage daily AP transactions to ensure timely and accurate processing. Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, handling inquiries and resolving issues on a daily basis. Complete Vendor Applications and Tax Documentation Respond to internal and external Vendor Audit Requests Research returned AP checks and coordinate reissuance or resolution. Process Stop Payment Requests Maintain AP Vendor Master Data Perform regular audits and research within the AP APEX system to ensure compliance and accuracy. Analyze AP aging reports each month to identify and resolve outstanding payables. Research and reconcile outstanding Check Registers. Organize and facilitate Monthly AP Team meetings Monitor AP staff schedules and ensure accurate timesheet submissions and time off requests. Document and Update AP Procedures Provide onboarding and training for new team members in AP and accounting functions. Requirements Minimum of four years accounts payable experience, and at least 2 two years supervisory experience Food service industry experience greatly preferred Accounting or finance-related BA Strong proficiency with Excel, ERP systems, accounting software Strong vendor/customer service and communication skills Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail Must be able to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality
