Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager to lead daily payables operations in Nashville, Tennessee. This role oversees invoice processing, payment scheduling, and team performance while helping maintain accurate financial records and reliable vendor support. The ideal candidate brings strong operational judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to improve workflows in a fast-paced accounting environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct the day-to-day accounts payable function, ensuring invoices are reviewed, coded, and processed accurately and on time.
  • Supervise payment activities, including check disbursements and ACH transactions, while maintaining compliance with internal controls.
  • Manage and support accounts payable staff by assigning work, monitoring productivity, and providing guidance on best practices.
  • Review vendor invoices for proper documentation, account coding, and approval before payment is released.
  • Coordinate regular payment cycles and resolve exceptions that could delay timely vendor settlement.
  • Partner with accounting and finance teams to reconcile payables activity and support accurate month-end reporting.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, vendor questions, and payment issues with professionalism and urgency.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounts payable procedures and strengthen process consistency across the department.
