Accounts Payable Manager NOTE:
This position is NOT remote and will be required to be on site full-time Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to lead our accounts payable operations and ensure the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the entire accounts payable cycle, maintain compliance with financial regulations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold the integrity of our financial processes. Your expertise in accounting software, financial concepts, and internal controls will be instrumental in driving efficiency and accuracy within our finance department. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing organization committed to operational excellence and financial transparency. Responsibilities Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice receipt, coding, approval workflows, and payment disbursement using systems such as Workday, SAP, or similar financial software. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards in all accounts payable activities. Reconcile vendor statements and perform detailed account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Oversee the maintenance of accurate records for all transactions, including journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger postings. Collaborate with procurement, finance, and human resources teams to streamline processes related to benefits administration, payroll management, and corporate accounting functions. Supervise a team of accounts payable specialists, providing training on accounting software like QuickBooks, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Sage, PeopleSoft or Ceridian. Conduct regular audits of accounts payable transactions to ensure data entry accuracy and adherence to internal controls. Support external audits by preparing documentation related to accounts payable activities and ensuring compliance with governmental accounting standards when applicable. Assist in implementing process improvements using automation tools within systems such as Workday or accounting software platforms to increase efficiency. Skills Extensive knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, and financial concepts relevant to accounts payable management. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, PeopleSoft, UltiPro or similar platforms; experience with data entry and account reconciliation is essential. Strong understanding of SOX compliance requirements and internal control procedures. Experience with payroll management systems like ADP or Kronos; familiarity with benefits administration is a plus. Ability to analyze financial data accurately and identify discrepancies through analysis skills and attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills with the capacity for multitasking in a fast-paced environment; proficiency in 10 key typing for data entry tasks. Knowledge of governmental or non-profit accounting standards is advantageous for roles involving public sector entities or non-profit organizations.
