Job Description To develop and conduct quality audits related to Medical Records Management. Key Duties & Responsibilities 1. Develops quality audits of data and processes related to Integrity of the Medical Record and Medical Records Management across UAB Medicine. Assists in the development of efficient, effective audit tools and data models in collaboration with appropriate technical groups, leveraging technology wherever possible. Validates audits developed. 2. Conducts quality audits of data and processes related to chart scanning of records within an EHR for MRG team members and other UAB Health System locations as needed. 3. Compiles and analyzes audit findings. Notes trends and patterns in audit results. Troubleshoots root cause of issues in collaboration with MRG end users. Develops summary reports to communicate findings to leadership and others as appropriate 4. Provides education when necessary to UAB staff and MRG leadership. Participates in writing/updating policies and procedures related to chart management auditing. Works closely with MRG Manager/Sr Director to assist in improving documentation in the medical record. 5. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience in a medical field required, or 10 years of relevant experience working closely with medical records within an EHR required.
