Job Description

Audit Director — Los Angeles, CA Full-time • Public Accounting We're seeking a distinguished Audit Director to serve as a senior leader in our Los Angeles practice. This is a high-visibility role for a seasoned professional ready to drive technical excellence, own a significant client portfolio, and help shape the future of our audit practice — with partnership on the horizon. Key functions Serve as senior technical authority on complex audit, attest, and accounting matters across all applicable frameworks including GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB Own and grow a substantial book of business — serving as trusted advisor to executives, boards, and audit committees Direct the full audit practice: setting quality standards, overseeing risk management, and ensuring regulatory compliance firm-wide Lead and inspire a multi-tiered team of managers, supervisors, seniors, and associates — building culture and driving retention Drive practice growth through active business development: originating new clients, leading pitches, and expanding referral networks across LA Collaborate with firm leadership on strategic planning, service line development, and market positioning Oversee complex technical accounting issues including business combinations, impairments, variable interest entities, and more Lead firm-wide recruiting, training, and staff development initiatives Represent the firm through industry events, speaking engagements, and thought leadership in the LA market Qualifications 12+ years of progressive audit experience in public accounting, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required; Master's strongly preferred Active CPA license required Recognized technical expertise across complex accounting and auditing areas Proven book of business with demonstrated ability to originate and grow high-value client relationships Executive-level leadership presence — able to inspire teams and influence firm strategy Deep familiarity with SEC reporting, PCAOB standards, or nonprofit/governmental auditing a strong plus Active presence in the Los Angeles business and professional community preferred To be considered, please apply with a resume.
