Situated on oceanfront Collins Avenue in the heart of Millionaire's Row, Fontainebleau Miami Beach is one of the most historically and architecturally significant hotels on Miami Beach. Opened in 1954 and designed by Morris Lapidus, it was the most luxurious hotel on Miami Beach, and is thought to be the most significant building of Lapidus' career. Responsibilities The Income Audit Manager reports to Director of Finance and Accounting and oversees the income audit function across multiple hotel properties

  • ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant recording of all daily revenues, settlements, statistics, and related tax liabilities.
This position directs the daily income audit process and leads the income audit team, partnering with Operations, Revenue Management, Tax, and Corporate Accounting to safeguard revenue integrity across the complex. Key responsibilities include balancing all revenue streams to subsystems and the general ledger, validating third-party revenue and commissions, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and ensuring compliance with applicable sales, use, occupancy, resort, and other local taxes. Examples of Duties , includes but is not limited to the following : Lead and supervise the complex income audit team, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and ongoing professional development of income auditors. Oversee the daily income audit process for all properties, ensuring all revenue, settlements, statistics, taxes, and adjustments from the prior business day are accurately captured, balance, and posted to the general ledger in accordance with Corporate Master Accounting policy, USALI, and GAAP. Balance and verify all revenue streams
  • Rooms, Food & Beverage, Banquets & Catering, Spa, Retail, Parking, Resort Fees, Cabanas, Entertainment, Nightlife, and other ancillary outlets
  • between the PMS, POS, and supporting subsystems, and reconcile to the general ledger and daily revenue reports.
Verify and balance third-party revenue and disbursements, including OTA reservations and commissions, group/wholesale contracts, gift card and voucher activity, leased outlets and tenant revenue, concessionaire arrangements, and management/franchise reporting; investigate and resolve discrepancies with operating departments and third parties. Maintain working knowledge of and ensure compliance with all applicable state and local taxes. Reconcile tax liability accounts monthly, compare balances and activity to the supporting tax returns filed for the period, document and resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely remittance in coordination with the Corporate Tax function. Prepare and review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for all revenue-related, settlement, clearing, and tax liability accounts across the complex, ensuring complete supporting detail, aging of reconciliation items, and appropriate preparer/reviewer sign-off in accordance with the Master Accounting Policy. Maintain, document, and continuously improve income audit standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, and internal controls; ensure consistency of process across both properties while addressing property-specific operational differences. Partner with Front Office, F&B, Spa, Retail, Banquets, Reservations, Revenue Management, Credit, and IT to identify, investigate, and remediate revenue leakage, posting errors, rate/tax configuration issues, and control gaps. Prepare and distribute the Daily Revenue Report and supporting flash/statistic packages to property and corporate leadership; ensure data integrity and timely delivery. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, required. Minimum of four (4) years of progressive hotel accounting/income audit experience, multi-property or complex experience strongly preferred. Experience in a large, full-service luxury hotel, resort, or convention property is preferred; familiarity with high-volume F&B, banquets, spa, retail, and nightlife/entertainment revenue is a plus. Working knowledge of Florida and Miami-Dade County sales, use, and transient/occupancy tax requirements preferred. Experience with Opera/OPERA Cloud, Micros/Simphony, Infogenesis, Sun, Oracle, or comparable hospitality systems strongly preferred. CPA, CHAE, or progress toward certification is a plus. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large-volume data reconciliation) and strong general computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheet applications. Demonstrated experience reconciliating balance sheet accounts, preparing journal entries, and supporting monthly close in a multi-property or complex environment. Experience in verifying third-party revenue and commissions (OTAs, wholesalers, group housing, leased outlets/tenants, gift card providers) and resolving discrepancies. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across two properties. Demonstrated supervisory and team leadership skills, including the ability to train, develop and hold accountable a team of income auditors. Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written) and establish and maintain effective working relationships with property operations leaders, corporate finance, tax, internal audit, and external auditors. Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with company policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, and other instructions.
