Job Description
Internal Auditing Technician The Internal Auditing Technician in Pensacola, Florida supports the Director of Internal Auditing by conducting cyclical audits of tangible property, assisting with school internal accounts audits, financial analyses, investigations, and other projects. Located in Pensacola, Florida, this role involves the preparation of confidential legal documents, audit and investigative reports, and presentations for the Audit Committee and School Board. The position requires professional judgment and attention to detail in managing sensitive information. Job Responsibilities Obtain property records, incident reports, police reports, purchasing records, and other documentation throughout the inventory audit process. Coordinate, schedule, and perform site inventory and related tasks, maintaining accurate records and reconciling data with property accounts. Communicate inventory discrepancies and assist schools with record updates and missing property location efforts. Generate correspondence, reports, memos, and manuals related to property records maintenance. Confer with school and department administrators on laws, policies, and procedures governing property control and transfer. Conduct surprise cash counts and annual school internal account audits, providing clear explanations of policies to staff. Assist with various audits, reviews, financial analyses, and investigations, preparing comprehensive audit reports with recommendations. Present audit findings to supervisory staff and conduct follow-up audits as necessary. Handle sensitive information with confidentiality, including files related to disciplinary actions, grievances, and litigation. Participate in meetings on legal tactics, staff audits, and investigative interviews, taking notes and providing interpretations of methodologies and policies. Gather documentation for federal grant reimbursements and insurance recoveries related to natural disasters. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; college or technical training preferred. Minimum of 2 years' experience in auditing, clerical work, accounting, bookkeeping, property record keeping, or related fields; an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. Valid Florida Driver License required. Ability to perform confidential and complex audit tasks that may impact disciplinary or legal actions involving employees. Strong computer skills, including data entry, word processing, and basic office equipment operation. Effective oral and written communication skills. Excellent judgment, organization, and ability to prioritize tasks.
Compensation and Benefits Pay Rate:
$16/hourSchedule:
