The Staff Auditor supports the internal audit function by performing audit procedures, evaluating internal controls, and assisting in identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and compliance. This role is ideal for someone early in their audit career who is analytical, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn.
Responsibilities:
Perform audit fieldwork, including testing controls, analyzing data, and documenting results for both SOX and Risk Based audit Assist in developing audit programs and identifying key risks and controls Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations Prepare clear, accurate documents that support audit findings and conclusions Participate in walkthroughs and interviews with process owners Draft audit observations and recommendations for review by senior auditors and managers Communicate findings professionally and collaborate with business partners to clarify issues Support the preparation of audit reports and presentations for management Help monitor remediation of audit findings and follow up with stakeholders Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices Contribute ideas to enhance audit methodologies, tools, and processes Support and audit the company's data gathering efforts for annual ESG/Carbon Emissions reportingQualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field Relevant experience of 3+ years may be considered in lieu of a degree Internship experience in auditing or accounting is a plus Progress toward CIA or CPA is preferred Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and internal control concepts Excellent written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with audit software or data analytics tools is a plus Align with Patrick Industries "BETTER Together" mentality by pursuing Balance, Excellence, Trust, Teamwork, Empowerment, and Respect within the organization At Patrick Industries, BETTER Together is our commitment to being our best while striving to bring out the best in one another as we join forces Individually, as Teams, with our Business Units, with our Customers, our Communities and within our entire Patrick family.
