Indianapolis, IN Job Details Full-time | Contract Up to $22 an hour 13 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Research Full Job Description Key Responsibilities Tax Compliance & Revenue Administration Provide technical guidance and procedural assistance to taxpayers, authorized representatives, and internal stakeholders. Research and resolve complex issues involving tax returns, payments, assessments, liabilities, and account discrepancies. Review taxpayer records to identify filing requirements, compliance concerns, and outstanding obligations. Create and maintain assessments, billings, adjustments, and account corrections in accordance with applicable regulations and legal determinations. Maintain accurate records of collection activities, assessments, and case outcomes. Audit & Financial Analysis Analyze financial statements, tax returns, accounting records, and supporting documentation. Perform audit procedures and testing to evaluate accuracy, compliance, and reporting integrity. Interpret audit findings and recommend corrective actions when necessary. Investigate non-filers, underreported income, and other compliance-related issues. Conduct detailed reviews of financial data to identify inconsistencies, trends, and potential discrepancies. Investigations & Case Management Conduct research and gather evidence to support compliance reviews and investigative activities. Prepare and maintain documentation to ensure proper handling and tracking of evidence and records. Manage assigned cases from initial review through resolution. Develop comprehensive case files and investigative reports. Assist with enforcement actions and support administrative proceedings as required. Records Review & Confidential Information Process requests for confidential taxpayer information in accordance with applicable privacy and disclosure requirements. Review records thoroughly to determine eligibility for disclosure and ensure regulatory compliance. Apply confidentiality, ethics, and information security standards in all aspects of work. Customer Service & Communication Communicate complex tax and compliance matters clearly and professionally. Work collaboratively with taxpayers, financial professionals, attorneys, and internal teams to resolve issues. Provide exceptional customer service while balancing regulatory and compliance requirements. Prepare written findings, reports, and supporting documentation.
Pay:
Up to $22.00 per hour Application Question(s): Please describe your experience in tax auditing, revenue administration, accounting, or compliance.
