Position Summary As a member of Audit Services, you will be a trusted advisor and partner with the various lines of business. Audit Services offers independent, objective, and risk-based assurance and consulting services that add value and identify solutions. Internal Auditors will be expected to provide recommendations to management regarding improvements to processes, internal controls and audit findings. Key Responsibilities The responsibilities listed below represent the primary duties of this position. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Audits operational (lending and retail services), compliance or financial activities related to the Bank. Perform audits in accordance with guidelines approved by management and Global Internal Audit Standards. Completes audit programs according to approved audit procedures and scope. Prepares workpapers and reports for all assigned audits. Evaluates compliance with Bank policies and procedures. Makes recommendations for improving and strengthening internal controls and operating procedures. Keeps Audit Services Management apprised of progress of audits and findings as they arise. Evaluates internal controls, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements (including Sarbanes-Oxley), and identifies business risks. Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Completes other tasks as needed and assigned by Audit Services Management. Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources. Required Qualifications Possesses beginning to working knowledge of internal auditing and/or banking. Bachelor's degree, typically in Business, Accounting or Finance. Attention to detail Familiarity with basic accounting principles Basic to intermediate math skills Basic to intermediate Excel, Word and Query skills Minimal travel to other bank branches to complete audit programs Comply with the Institute of Internal Auditors Code of Ethics and Standards A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with bank personnel and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
