This pivotal role involves overseeing internal and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and enhancing the organization's financial integrity. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting expertise, extensive experience in public accounting, and a comprehensive understanding of risk management and regulatory reporting. As an Audit Manager, you will lead audit engagements, evaluate internal controls, and support the organization's commitment to transparency and accuracy in financial reporting. Duties Lead and coordinate internal audits, external audits, and special review projects to ensure adherence to applicable standards such as GAAS (Generally Accepted Auditing Standards) and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Oversee the development and execution of audit plans, including risk assessments, scope definition, and resource allocation. Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls using frameworks such as COSO (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance requirements. Prepare detailed financial reports, management summaries, and regulatory filings that clearly communicate audit findings and recommendations. Review complex financial transactions, journal entries, and account reconciliations within general ledger accounting systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve internal processes related to financial management, compliance, and risk mitigation. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in financial regulations, accounting standards, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance. Utilize advanced accounting software tools for data analysis, audit testing, and documentation purposes. Provide mentorship to junior staff members while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification or equivalent is strongly preferred. Extensive experience in public accounting or corporate auditing roles with a minimum of five years in a managerial capacity. Deep understanding of GAAP, governmental accounting standards, regulatory reporting requirements, and technical accounting principles. Proven expertise in SOX compliance, COSO frameworks, risk management strategies, and internal control assessment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately. Experience with financial analysis software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP or Oracle. Knowledge of tax regulations and experience with tax-related audits is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for preparing comprehensive reports and presenting findings clearly to diverse audiences. Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on team development and process optimization.
